International GA Warning

Never carry Firearms, Weapons and/or Ammunition on board an aircraft, on your person or in your luggage on an international flight UNLESS you have obtained all of the required permits from the countries of landing. The carriage of any of these items may be considered a Federal Crime in most foreign countries and can result in arrest, conviction and prison terms. Bear in mind that in many foreign countries you are required to go through metal detectors on arrival AND departure and that your luggage may be sent through X-Ray machines on arrival AND departure. In addition, be aware that you are always subject to searches of aircraft and luggage by local authorities.

If you travel within the USA with Firearms, Weapons and/or Ammunition in your luggage, on your person or on board your aircraft, you should be COMPLETELY certain that everything has been removed prior to leaving the USA. Firearm carry permits are not recognized outside of the USA and will not protect you from arrest, conviction and long prison terms in foreign jails.

If you determine that you have the legal permission(s) necessary to travel to a foreign country with firearms, weapons or ammunition then BEFORE leaving the USA, you should complete CBP Form 4457 and present it, along with the items, to officers at the CBP port for inspection and approval. Also, when preparing to return to the USA, you should contact CBP at your planned port of arrival and advise them that you will have Firearms, Weapons and/or Ammunition on board the aircraft and request instructions on how they would like for you to have the weapons stored. This is a CBP safety issue and it is important that the officers know before they arrive at the aircraft that there will be weapons involved.
