The Bahamas Civil Aviation Department (CAD) is in the process of bringing their brand new ASR 12 /MSSR Radar and Aircon Air Traffic Management Systems on line. The capabilities of these new systems will benefit operators traveling to/from Nassau (MYNN) as it is the very latest technology available. However, as is the case during the implementations of sophisticated technologies, CAD is anticipating some delays in the short term as controllers and technicians are trained and come up to speed with the capabilities and features of the new systems. Therefore, operators planning to travel to MYNN over the coming weeks (Christmas and New Year) should expect delays related to this implementation.
