Pilots travelling internationally should be aware that certain countries have extra fees for arrivals on weekends, holidays or outside of specified hours of operation. These fees may be overtime for customs like Belize and the Cayman Islands or they may also be for airport operations and/or ATC operations.

Therefore, as part of your international flight planning, you should determine if there are any special overtime surcharges for landing on a weekend or holiday. In addition, verify that your ETA and ETD are within the normal operating hours of the airport to avoid any surprises.

Note that most international airports do not operate 24 hours a day.
