Some countries require that you present a General Declaration (Gen Dec)from your departure country when arriving in their country. Since the USA does not require outbound Part 91 flights to get an Outward Gen Dec, this can create a problem.

Most countries in Central America and the Caribbean are not a problem but in some South American countries this can create a problem for flights originating in the USA that fly direct to the country or only make a fuel stop on the way to the country. One way around this is to print off a copy of your USA eAPIS manifest and bring it with you. If you are a Fltplan.com user, an even better option is to print off a Gen Dec from the eAPIS page on their website and bring it with you. Although none of these will be stamped by CBP, they have been sufficient to meet the requirements of these countries, so far.
