If you are planning to use the Cozumel VOR (CZM) for navigation while flying to/from Mexico or Central America, take note that the old CZM VOR has been de-commissioned and replaced with a new VOR with a NEW FREQUENCY of 112.5. The NEW VOR is at a NEW LOCATION so approaches and SID's based on the old CZM VOR of 112.6 are not authorized and airways have been affected.

What is concerning is that current Jeppesen charts are still showing the old frequency and VOR location. There is a long list of NOTAM's for MMCZ showing pending changes to approaches, SID's and airways due to the new VOR. So, check NOTAM's if you plan to fly to Cozume, the Yucatan Peninsula or to Central America along airways that use the CZM VOR so that you do not find yourself somewhere other than where you plan to be.

The new VOR is now aligned with runway 11/29 in Cozumel (MMCZ) for better navigation when conducting the VOR/DME approach. However, you need to wait for the new approaches to be published before attempting an IFR approach to Cozumel.
