Despite being almost completed, work on the new Commercial Aviation terminal building and the new Control Tower has basically stopped. Since the change in power after this summer's elections when the PLP took over control of the government, work at the Marsh Harbour airport has ground to a halt. Whether this is intentional or coincidental is a topic of debate, however, the fact remains that the work is incomplete.

Therefore, the Marsh Harbour International Airport continues to be a non-towered airport and arriving passengers are still using the old terminal building.
