Some of the more common questions that we receive pertain to the CBP decal. This decal is required and must be affixed to the aircraft upon arrival in the USA from a foreign country. At the time of this post, the decal costs US$ 27.50 and can be purchased on-line. The link to the CBP website can be found in the "Other Useful Links" section at the bottom of the "Links" page on the caribbean Sky Tours website. Click here to go to the links page.

Many pilots fail to order the decal in sufficient time prior to departing on their international trip and find themselves on departure day without their decal. Here is one solution to this problem.

When you purchase your decal on-line, you can print off a receipt that shows that you paid US$ 27.50 for a decal. You can bring that receipt with you to prove that you have purchased the decal. However, that receipt DOES NOT show the tail number nor the decal number which can create a problem.

A useful tip is that a few days after you purchase the decal on-line, you will receive an automated email from the website advising you that your order has been processed. If you log back into your CBP decal account after receiving this email, you will find that you can now print out a much more detailed receipt THAT DOES contain BOTH your tail number AND the assigned decal number. Now you have more comprehensive proof that you pruchased a decal for YOUR aircraft. You also now have the decal number so that you can properly complete your eAPIS manifest.

Happy Flying
