We have been notified by CBP and we have heard confirmation from eAPIS users that CBP is cracking down on the quality of the eAPIS information submitted. Specifically, CBP is checking for details such as matching names submitted in an eAPIS manifest to the names that are registered on passports and any small details that previsouly would not have been an issue.

We have heard of instances where the pilot filed an eAPIS, arrived in the USA, completed the arrival formalities with the CBP oficer (with no issues raised by the officer) and then receiving an enforcement letter from CBP because the middle initial was sued instead of the full name as it appeared in the person's passport.

Therefore, it is VERY IMPORTANT that pilots ensure that the names of crew and passengers appear on the eAPIS manifest EXACTLY as they do in the "Travel Document" (PASSPORT).
