Pilots and operators will have a rare opportunity to meet with members of CBP General Aviation headquarters at this year’s Airventure. I am not referring to the CBP Air and Marine Operations team (tan suits) that normally attend Airventure but rather the part of CBP that oversees CBP General Aviation procedures at the ports: eAPIS system, Border overflight exemptions, Airport Fact Sheets, permission to land, enforcement actions and everything to do with CBP and General Aviation flights. It has been 13 years since the CBP General Aviation group has been to Airventure and the leadership of that group will be there on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Unfortunately, CBP does not have a booth this year in the Federal Pavilion Hangar but the CBP General Aviation Group will be at the CST booth in hangar C, booth 3009, each of those three days from 10:00 to 11:00 am daily to listen to your questions and to provide you with answers. They will also be present at the CST presentation on flying to Mexico at Forum 10 on Wednesday afternoon from 2:30 to 3:45 as well as the CST presentation on flying to the Caribbean in Forum 4 on Thursday from 11:30 to 12:45. In addition, they will also be at the AOPA tent on Friday from 12:00 to 12:45. Lastly, they will be back to the CST booth Friday afternoon for any last-minute questions.

Take advantage of this rare opportunity to meet and greet the CBP General Aviation group and to clarify any doubts or questions that you may have regarding CBP procedures directly with them. Rather than hear things third hand, hear it from the source.
