For the first time in 26 years, Mexico abandons Daylight Savings Time (DST). Therefore, most airports throughout Mexico will be either UTC-5, UTC-6 or UTC-7 year-round. However, there are a number of states along the US-Mexico border that will still abide by the DST changes in the USA to facilitate cross-border operations. These states are: Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Coahuila, and Baja California. Dispatchers and pilots should take this into consideration when flight planning trips to Mexico as these changes could impact airport hours of operation as well as other local service providers.
