If you are planning to fly your plane to Mexico between now and the new year, be sure to obtain a Single Entry Permit (SEP) even if you possess a Multiple Entry Permit (MEP)

If you plan to spend New Year's Eve in Mexico then you MUST obtain a SEP when you enter Mexico because your MEP issued in 2022 expires at midnight on December 31'st. An SEP, however, is valid for 180 days, regardless of when you obtain it. Even if you plan to leave Mexico before December 31, an illness or aircraft maintenance issue could force you to remain in Mexico longer than planned and you will have a problem. Therefore, plan ahead so that if there is any chance that your aircraft might remain in Mexico over the New Year, get a SEP when you enter and forget about the MEP. Consider it insurance.
