During a 2 hour long marathon meeting with members of Bahamas Tourism and Bahamas Customs last week, a number of issues related to the implementation of the Click2Clear system for private aircraft were discussed.

One of the most important items that was clarified is that the official implementation deadline for Click2Clear is May 30 and not May 18, which is what we and a number of FBOs and Customs Officers had been led to believe.

Most of the Bahamas Flying Ambassadors participated in the meeting and expressed their observations and concerns. We also learned of a number of features with the Click2Clear system that we were unaware of and should help to reduce the workload for compliance.

An important point that was made is that the fines for non-compliance for those who arrive at an airport in The Bahamas without having previously completed a Click2Clear submission is up to $ 5,000 USD. However, those who arrive in violation will be given a 24-hour compliance period during which they can go online and make their submission after their arrival in The Bahamas.

We will compile a more comprehensive list of the topics discussed and the issues covered in the coming days but in the meantime, be advised that the official implementation date is May 30 and not May 18.
