Travel Protocol change starting Monday December 27, 2021


All those travelling to The Bahamas from other countries, whether fully vaccinated or unvaccinated, will be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas.

All previous approved travel health visas will be honored.


1. TESTING REQUIREMENTS


Fully Vaccinated Travellers

Effective Dec. 27, 2021 persons entering The Bahamas will be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test (either a Rapid Antigen Test or PCR), taken no more than 72 hours prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas.

Effective January 7, 2022 fully vaccinated persons must present a negative COVID 19 RT-PCR test. Rapid Antigen Test will no longer be accepted.


Unvaccinated Travellers

Unvaccinated travellers, ages 12 and older, entering The Bahamas must obtain a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to the date of arrival.


Children between the ages of 2 and 11 are required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test (either a Rapid Antigen Test or PCR), taken no more than 72 hours prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas.


Effective January 7, 2022 a Rapid Antigen test will no longer be acceptable for children ages 2 through 11 years old. An RT-PCR test will be required.

Children under the age of 2 are exempt from any testing requirements



2. HEALTH VISA


All visitors travelling to The Bahamas are required to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa at travel.gov.bs.


Applicants will be required to upload their negative test results and proof of vaccination (when applicable)


ALL VISITORS

As part of the Bahamas Travel Health Visa application, travellers will be required to opt in to COVID-19 health insurance that covers them for the duration of their stay in The Bahamas. The cost of insurance is included in the Bahamas Travel Health Visa application fee.

Bahamas Travel Health Visa applications take up to 48 hours to process and should be completed with adequate lead time.

The cost of the Bahamas Travel Health Visa is dependent on length of stay and vaccination status.

All visitors eighteen (18) years and older are required to complete an individual Bahamas Travel Health Visa.

Persons seventeen (17) years and younger are to add a profile within the account of their parent or guardian.

Crew remaining 24 hours or more are required to follow protocols of category above they fit into Vaccinated or Unvaccinated.


Exemptions:

Children - All children, under the age of 2, are exempt from any testing requirements. Visitors under the age of 2 must have Bahamas Travel Health Visa to enter.

Crew overnighting for less than 24 hours are required to complete the travel health visa (no charge)

Crew staying for a few hours Technical Refueling/Crew Rest flight are not required to have a Covid test or a travel health visa.
