CST has been communicating with the Turks and Caicos civil aviation department regarding requirements for 406 MHz ELT's in the T&K. Verbally we have been told that they will respect the rules of the country of registry of the aircraft, hence no 406 ELT requirement for US registered aircraft. However, getting this in writing has been a great challenge. The civil aviation officials correctly point out that although they do not require the ELT's, aircraft flying to the T&K will have to fly through internationl airspace and would require them for that part of their flight. We will advise as we obtain more information.
