On January 12, 2021, CDC issued an order requiring all passengers arriving to the US from a foreign country to get tested no more than 3 days before their flight.

This Order will go into effect on January 26, 2021.

This will apply to ALL passengers (commercial and GA) older than 2 years of age.

Passenger:

  • Must show proof of:
    a) Documentation of a Negative Qualifying Test Result: PCR or Viral Antigen, conducted on a specimen collected during the 3 calendar days preceding the flight's departure.
    or
    b) Documentation of Recovery from COVID-19: Proof of previous SARS-CoV-2 infection and a letter from a licensed health care provider or public health official clearing the passenger to travel.
  • Must retain the negative test result or the documentation of recovery.
  • Must be able to present documentation upon request of US Authorities.
  • Must sign a written attestation of having a negative COVID-19 Test Result or Documentaiton of Recovery (attestation of children aged 2 - 17 must be signed by parent or legal guardian).

Operator:

  • Must verify that each passenger aged 2 or older has Documentation of a Negative Test Result or Documentation of Recovery from COVID-19.
  • Must collect a completed attestation from each passenger declaring that they have received a negative COVID-19 Test Result or that they have Documentation of Recovery.
  • Must retain a copy of each passenger attestation for 2 years.
  • Must present passengers' attestations to US Authorities upon request.
  • Must NOT board any passengers without verifying the attestation and confirming the documentation presented.

Crew members on official duty are exempt from the testing requirement provided that they follow industry standard protocolsfor the prevention of COVID-19 as set forth in the relevant Safety Alerts of Operatos (SAFOs) issued by the FAA.

Additional recommendations:

  • Get tested again in the US 3-5 days after arrival.
  • Stay home for 7 days after arrival (even if you tested negative).

While this initiative does not eliminate infection risk completely, it does help reduce the spread and introduction of the virus into the US and helps preserve the health and safety of crewmembers and passengers.

During the following da?ys and weeks, we will provide more information.
