While discussing another matter with the DGAC in Loreto, we were told that the operating permit for the Rancho San Cristobal airstrip (RCX) has expired and that the airstrip is currently closed. Pilots planning to use this airstrip should be aware of this problem and the probability that any flight plan to this airstrip may be denied. Also, insurance companies and the DGAC will usually take a very dim view of anyone operating at an airstrip that has been legally closed.
