Caribbean Sky Tours participated in the Bahamas Marketing Council meeting last Wednesday. An exciting new topic that was discussed is a new promotional program for 2011 to entice pilots to visit the Bahamas Out Islands and demonstrate just how easy it is to fly to the Bahamas. This program would challenge pilots with specific objectives for visiting a certain airports in the Out Islands and those that succeed would be elgible for rewards. Amongst the potential giveaways are free lodging at some fabulous resorts in the Out Islands.

Stay tuned for details on this program as it continues to be defined and finalized.

Rick,
This sounds intriguing, would it be like a scavenger hunt to various islands or similar? Keep me posted!!

Hi Robin, yes it is very similar. The details are still being worked out but essentially you would receive a "passport" and as you visit each designated destination, the immigration/customs officer would not only stamp your real passport but your "Bahamas passport" as well to prove that you did in fact visit those destinations. We will keep everyone posted as details are finalized. We will be seeing the director of aviation tourism at AOPA Summit this week.
