Colombia requires that you obtain an Entry Permit if you plan to remain for more than 48 hours or if you plan to fly to another airport in Colombia.

Depending on the exact route you fly, you may need other over-flight or landing permits for the countries or airspace that you overfly.

We are planning to fly to Ecuador in January. We need forms for overflight permits and landing. We are going to fly from Panama to Esmeralda 480 miles over water. I could not find any airports in Columbia along our route with fuel. Can you help?

Hello Darrell, planning a flight to Ecuador on your own can be somewhat complex. Colombia poses a real challenge for fuel availability as you point out. In fact, it is extremely difficult for short range aircraft, like some small helicopters, to make it past Colombia due to fuel availability and customs availability.
