A number of members have commented that while flying within Mexico they have received instructions by Mexican ATC to comply with published VFR procedures for a particular airport. However, many don't know what this instruction means or where to find the published procedures.

Mexico does in fact publish VFR procedures for 14 Terminal Areas in Mexico. These procedures are ONLY found in Mexico's Aeronautical Information Publication and are not published in Jeppesen or NACO/FAA IFR/VFR charts of any kind.

So, where does a pilot go to obtain these procedures if they don't have a copy of the Mexico AIP? Well, to Caribbean Sky Tours, of course. We maintain a registered, updated copy of Mexico's AIP and we have scanned the VFR procedures chart for all 14 airports. They can be downloaded for FREE from the Caribbean Sky Tours member website in the Mexico Section of the Chart Downloads page.

The terminal areas with VFR Procedures are:

ACAPULCO
CABO SAN LUCAS - SAN JOSE DEL CABO
CANCUN - COZUMEL
CIUDAD DEL CARMEN
CIUDAD JUAREZ
CHIHUAHUA
GUADALAJARA
HERMOSILLO
MEXICALI
MEXICO
MONTERREY
OAXACA
TIJUANA
TOLUCA

In order to interpret the symbology on the chart:

Red numbers located in Red ovals are the MAXIMUM VFR altitudes in that sector
Red hatched areas are prohibited for VFR flights
White circles with a black triangle in them are mandatory VFR reporting points
Black circles with a white triangle in them are optional reporting points at the request of ATC
The black lines with arrow heads are VFR routes
Circles are military airports
Circles with 4 barbs in the cardinal points are civilian airports.

Again...blank.... I think the reason is if I paste a text it will be blank!

My question was: where do I find the VFR procedure charts (carta visual) of the Mexican AIP? In the Mexican Section of the Chart Download Page I find only the WAC Charts.

Good day, as we explained via email, we unfortunately left these off of the new member website when we transitioned in July. We are in the process of verifying to make sure that we put up the very latest from our current subscription of the Mexico AIP. We hope to have them back before the end of the week. In the meantime, we will be happy to send them to you via email.

The latest versions of the VFR procedures for major airports in Mexico have been uploaded to the Member Website. They are in the "Airport Charts" section of the Mexico page along with the VFR Terminal Area charts for major airports in Mexico. The Mexico WAC charts are found under the MEXICO-CENAM CHARTS --> INEGI VFR CHARTS. The IFR charts are also found in the MEXICO-CENAM section. If anyone has any problems locating them, please give us a call at +1 786 206 6147 or send us an email to info@caribbeanskytours.com or leave a post.
